The Power of the Word (In Step With Jesus: New Members' Bible Study Guide #3)

The Power of the Word is the third study guide in the In Step With Jesus study guides to help new members connect with church members and with God understand and follow God?s Word minister to others and equip them for discipleship during their first year of church membership. These lessons will focus on specific teachings of Jesus as found in the Gospels and throughout the Bible. After introductory lessons on the power of the Word of God (Lessons 1-3) and one lesson on the potential of hostility that can come from obedience to the word (Lesson 4) we study the following teachings of Jesus: the Sabbath and how to observe it (Lessons 5 and 6); tithes and offerings (Lessons 7); healthful living (Lesson 8); sexual behavior (Lesson 9); deliverance from addictions (Lesson 10); forgiveness (Lesson 11); what happens at death (Lesson 12); and the destinies of the saved and the unsaved (Lesson 13). The series can be started any time and is not limited to the calendar year.
