The Last Word: An Eschatological Theology of Preaching

Adapted From the Preface:

There is no more dreadful thing to have to do than preach. It is dreadful because in order for a man to have the courage to do so he must know why he is so engaged and he must know on what authority he dares.

There is no more joyful thing to have to do than preach. It is joyful because for a man to have the faith to do so he must be in fellowship with the living Saviour who prepares him for preaching and who is his authority.

Because preaching is so dreadful and so joyful because is so important to me I thought others perhaps others might appreciate a look at how one preacher has managed to put it all together. Because I take the role of listening seriously I hope to stimulate the reader?s interest in the preacher?s point of view as well as that of the listeners. If by looking at preaching through the eyes of another you are helped either in your preaching or your listening I will be satisfied.
