DEUTERONOMIO: El libro del amor

Deuteronomio es el libro del amor. Esto puede sonarte extraño pero es la realidad. El amor de Dios y la forma en que debemos amarlo se expresan con más intensidad en Deuteronomio que en cualquier otro D libro del Antiguo Testamento.

Muy a menudo se suele pensar que Deuteronomio trata de la Ley una 'segunda ley' o una 'repetición de la ley' como indica el término Deuteronomio. Lamentablemente este título es muy engañoso porque el libro no trata prin- cipalmente de mandatos y leyes. Se trata más bien de la actitud positiva de Dios hacia su pueblo y su respuesta de amor hacia él. Es este amor el que estaba en el corazón de Moisés al expresar sus palabras de despedida al pueblo de Dios un pueblo llamado y escogido por el Señor para ser sus seguidores y una luz para el mundo. Como iglesia al estudiar Deuteronomio aprenderemos a amar temer y servir a Dios más profundamente lo que redundará en satisfacción felicidad y paz.

Deuteronomy is the book of love. This may sound strange to you but it is reality. God's love and how we should love him are expressed more strongly in Deuteronomy than in any other D book in the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy is often thought of as dealing with the Law a 'second law' or a 'repetition of the law ' as the term Deuteronomy indicates. Unfortunately this title is very misleading because the book is not primarily about mandates and laws. Rather it is about God's positive attitude toward his people and his loving response toward him. It is this love that was in the heart of Moses as he expressed his parting words to the people of God a people called and chosen by the Lord to be his followers and a light to the world. As a church as we study Deuteronomy we will learn to love fear and serve God more deeply which will result in satisfaction happiness and peace.
